FAQs

Where does your data come from?

Most of the data contained within FedSeek reports is sourced directly from the Federal Procurement Data System (FPDS), the offical source of contract award information for the US federal government, and USASpending.gov.

Supplemental federal information is obtained from SAM.gov, the US Treasury, and is augmented using third-party, commerical solutions.

FedSeek also applies our own proprietary AI systems to correct for missing or invalid data. Records we've corrected are indicated by a value of "true" in the "fs_corrected" column of the reports spreadsheet.

How fresh is your data?

We update our primary database from FPDS on a weekly basis. Reports are generated using a rolling 10-year lookback period, calculated from the date the contract was executed.

We maintain a complete record of all FPDS contract awards and modifications dating back 25+ years for use in our trends analysis. Access to this data is also available to enterprise customers.

When are the reports emailed?

New users automatically receive an abbreviated FedSeek Basic report upon signup. Subsequent free Basic reports are sent on the first day of each month.

FedSeek Pro reports are sent every Monday morning (US Eastern timezone).

Do you have an API?

No, we do not presently have a public API. This feature is currently on the product roadmap for future development.
